Rates for Services

Transcript rates are based on a per-page basis. We provide four different rates of service: Daily (if available) - delivered by 9am next business day; Expedited - delivered in 3 business days; Priority – delivered in 10 business days, and Regular - delivered in approximately 21 business days. CAUTION: Daily, Expedited and Priority rates are not available for rulings due to the approval process with the judge/justice.

If you are ordering reasons and/or rulings, please be advised that all rulings, reasons, and/or charges to the jury are sent to the judge or justice for approval before release.  For Provincial Court matters, the ruling is sent to the judge for approval, and once approved, it is returned to our office for distribution to the ordering party.  For Supreme Court matters, the ruling is sent to the justice for approval, and once approved, it is sent to the ordering party directly from the justice's office.  We have no control over how long judges may take to approve their rulings.  If we are made aware of an upcoming court date, appeal date, or a required deadline, we will notify the judge of the deadline in hopes that the approval process can be completed within the time requirements.  However, once the ruling is with the judge, there is no guarantee as to an exact date of approval.

Members of the public are provided with an estimated cost and must make a deposit of the total estimated cost prior to transcription.  (See Members of the Public section for more information). Lawyers and government offices are not usually required to pay a deposit ahead of time, but an estimate can be provided upon request.  Estimates are based on information provided to us from the court registry using the clerk's notes.  All estimates will vary upon completion as we do not know the exact amount of pages a transcript will be until it has been transcribed.  However, we do take this into account and try to estimate a little on the high side.

When placing a transcript or estimate request, you will need to have the following information:  court file number, name of case, date(s) of proceedings you wish to have transcribed, a description of what you require to be transcribed (e.g., all proceedings, only evidence of a certain witness, submissions by counsel, ruling, etc.), the name of the judge presiding, and the registry location where the matter was heard.  If you do not have this information, please inquire at the registry where the matter was heard.  In addition to the above, please notify us if you are appealing, and if so, where you are appealing to (e.g., Supreme Court, B.C. Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Canada) as the transcript may require a different format and additional certified copies.  For Appeals to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada, please contact our Head Office toll free at: 1.888.811.9882 for details.  All appeals to the B.C. Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada are handled through our head office.
